Sweat Testing

Whether you're training for a fun run, playing weekend sport, hitting the gym, or just love being active, hydration matters. Our sweat testing service measures your individual sweat rate (how much fluid you lose during exercise) so you can develop a personalised hydration plan to support your performance, safety, and recovery.

Why is it Important?

Sweat loss can vary greatly between individuals, and it changes with:
  • Environmental conditions (heat, humidity, wind)
  • Exercise intensity and duration
  • Clothing and equipment
Drinking fluid during exercise helps replace what’s lost through sweat. Hydration supports:
  • Body temperature regulation
  • Blood volume and circulation
  • Muscle function
  • Mental focus and coordination
Even a 2% loss in body weight from fluid can affect endurance, strength, and focus. One study showed a 2.5% fluid loss reduced performance by up to 45%. (1)
Dehydration slows fluid absorption in the gut, making it harder to rehydrate and recover. Delaying hydration can lead to bloating, nausea, and prolonged fatigue.

Dehydration can:
  • Impair both physical and mental performance
  • Increase risk of heat stress
  • Raise heart rate and body temperature
  • Lead to increased fatigue, drowsiness, and perceived effort
  • Even mimic symptoms of concussion (2)
  • Cause difficulty concentrating and reduce balance
You can’t train your body to tolerate dehydration, your fluid needs must be met to support your body’s natural regulation systems.

How Sweat Testing Helps

Knowing your personal sweat rate takes the guesswork out of hydration. Whether you're preparing for a race, training in the heat, or working to improve recovery, sweat testing allows you to:

Optimise Your Hydration Plan

Reduce Cramping, Fatigue, and Heat Stress

Improve training and competition outcomes

Recover faster and feel better

Post-Exercise Hydration Tips

Water with food is usually enough, but electrolytes can help stimulate thirst and improve fluid retention, especially in longer sessions or hot conditions.

You’ll continue to lose fluids after your session, so proper rehydration is key.

Example:
  • If you lost 1 kg (1000 mL) of fluid and drank 500 mL during exercise, you’ll need to drink an additional 750–1000 mL to fully rehydrate.
  • If you didn’t drink anything during your session, you’ll need to consume 1250–1500 mL post-exercise.

Skinfolds & Body Composition Assessment

Our ISAK Kinanthropometry Profile Assessment offers a comprehensive, practical way to assess your body composition and structure, ideal for athletes, active individuals, and anyone wanting to monitor physical changes over time.

ISAK stands for the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry. It is a globally recognised organisation that sets the standard for the accurate and reliable measurement of human body composition and proportions.
“Kinanthropometry is the interface between anatomy and movement. It takes the measurement of the human body and determines its capability for function and movement in a range of settings.”
